I completely agree, it's hard to go and spend your hard-earned cash on clothes for work!

We're not even allowed to wear anything with no sleeves, which is killer in this weather. I don't just mean shoestring vest tops (which I agree, is inappropriate), but sleeveless shift dresses and that ilk are also banned. Sometimes I think a uniform would be easier...

I adore that Phase eight dress, luckily my office is fairly forgiving and I can wear almost anything and I try to avoid anything too corporate... I have only been at the job 5 weeks and I already have the reputation of the girl with nice shoes and clothes so I must be doing something right! :P

I love Warehouse for work clothes, and often get nice bits in their sale. My work wardrobe is also pretty horrendous - and the amount of work-appropriate outfits I have for this sunny weather is almost non-existent! I totally understand where you're coming from when you say it feels really boring to spend hard-earned cash on work clothes.

One of my pet peeves about fashion magazines is that they all seem to have a warped idea of what is work-appropriate (similar to the point Harriet's making above). I hate seeing mini dresses or a bralet layered under a blazer or something with the caption 'perfect for the office'. For the magazine's office, maybe!

Work clothes are so hard to buy I think - because so many shops get it wrong. Yes, I want a nice blouse for work but no I don't want it to be see through! A lovely shift dress, but one that reaches my knee please not mid thigh!

I totally agree, £60 is a bit steep for a tote. The Jaeger tote is my favourite, and for a leather bag that would hopefully last a lifetime I think its a good investment :)

Same! I do have a few nice work outfits, but not enough to wear everyday. And I'd like to be able to wear pencil skirts, but because I bike to work I struggle.

I like the Lulu Guiness tote bag, though if I'm honest I wouldn't pay £60 for it.
