Accessorize review & a GIVEAWAY!

A very exciting little email popped into my inbox a couple of weeks ago from Amy, a Social Media Co-ordinator for the press office of Monsoon and Accessorize. I was delighted to read that they had chosen me to be one of 4 or 5 bloggers asked to review the new Autumn/Winter collection. I of course said yes and thank you very much and was posted a huge jiffy bag of goodies to play with for a few days!

I thought I'd show a few of the pieces today (with a lovely surprise at the end for all of you!) and then show a couple of other items in outfit posts during the week.

The next big event we'll all be shopping for is the Christmas party (don't shoot me, I know it's only September but that only just under four months away!) Accessorize sent me two beautiful hairbands- one a gold starbust number and the other a black & silver embellished beauty. If you have any late-in-the-season weddings coming up, like I do myself, these would be perfect. I've never been one for elaborate hair-do's, I'd much prefer to have something pretty like this to place on my barnet! My favourite is the black beaded band- I think it's a bit more me and looks a little vintage goth. I would love to pair it with an elusive black lace maxi dress that I have been fawning over for months.


I'm not really a wrap/pashmina/stole kind of girl. But I love scarves, I own a lot of vintage scarves, whose prints are often just my side of twee- often hard to find on the high street. But this rose-print one is gorgeous. It does have lines of sequins, which I wasn't too keen on (I think the busy floral is enough) but to be honest, when it's worn you hardly notice them.


I wouldn't usually wear it like this but I wanted to show you the size and full print. Again, for an occasion it would be great with a black dress.


Bracelets and bangles seemed to be the order of the day though and you didn't catch me complaining. This Keepsake charm bracelet below is packed with quirky, kitsch baubles- planes, cameos (all over the highstreet at the minute!) horses, bicycles pearls and more. I'm not generally a wearer of gold but since getting my engagement ring I think this might have to change. This is an old gold too, none of that brassy, cheap looking stuff.


My favourite piece of everything I was sent is this Ever After bangle. I bought their Forget Me Not ivory bangle last year and this is definitely going to be added to my A/W wishlist. Reminiscent of Disney Couture but minus the somewhat out-of-my-price-range price tag- this one will retail at £8.
The painted heart bangle will also retail at £8.

I also liked these perspex hearts, but unfortunately I must have man-hands as these barely fit on my wrists and were a little too tight to wear for any long period of time. Great though if maybe you're one of those lucky people blessed with slender wrists and usually have trouble finding something that doesn't slide right off!


To seal the deal, Accessorize very kindly gifted me two pieces from the new collection- an Around the World charm bracelet and a feather diamante hairclip.

The hairclip is a beautiful blue/sea green and would suit any shade of hair and the bracelet is covered in globes, apples, cameras, postcards and even a clog here or there.


My jewellery box is burgeoning and in need of a good clear out so I thought instead of keeping them selfishly for myself, I would give them away to one of you happy campers!
