Tattoology

I got mega bored tonight and started playing around with a Sharpie and fantasising about future tattoos. The top two are mine. Suzanne Vega lyrics- 'Night is the cathedral' and a little hollow heart.

The rest all come from the most amazing tattoo blog called Tattoologist.

If you were going to get a tattoo, what would you get? And where would you get it?

  3. oh, i'd love a tattoo! but i know i wouldn't be able to deal with the pain and the fact that it's permanant.

if i was to get some, i'd quite like a william morris inspired design, this quote by audrey hepburn - 'i don't want to be alone, i want to be left alone' and perhaps a button and some stitching (you know, like little lines across my body? hehe)

the font on your first fantasy tattoo is very pretty!

    love, jazzabelle. xxx

  4. A whole new world of possibility has been opened up and I'm eyeing my five pack of Poundland Sharpies with renewed enthusiasm!
I've got a tribal design on my lower back and my eyebrows are tattooed on, too. Now Mum's not around to disgrace I'm contemplating a sleeve of peacock feathers, Hindu deities and Indian dancing girls. xxx

  12. I've been thinking about tattoos a lot lately, as well! I really like the 4th, and 7th one. I'm more of a fan of text tattoos than pictures.

  13. I love tattoos, especially quotes, but only on other people. As long as it's not something boring and generic, that's fine :)

  15. I have 3 already, one behind my ear, one on my back, one on my foot. All decided on by me, the back one designed by me.

I always wanted a quote on me, "if your skating on thin ice you may aswell dance" but not too sure where it'd fit nicely.

  16. Eeeee they actually look awesome! I'd love a wrist one, but they're becoming really popular now so I'd be a bit put off. As for design, I'd always looked at simple lotus designs, but I really love all the wordy designs you've shown!

  17. I want one on my foot, I think I want a little bee because my nickname is 'bee' from my family, I'm not too sure why, ever since I was little though and they call it me ALL the time, and my friends are liek what? haha! And yes the boots are for sale, they are on my ebay, the link is in my sidebar on my blog :) xxxx

  18. I'd love a lyric. I'm not good at conveying an image of something that means so much to me. Except I dearly love balloons (how fluffy is that?), & I think I'd secretly really love a little balloon tattooed on me.

My favourite lyrics of all time are 'Scream away the pain' (which is not even innovative really, just four little words, but they're in a really happy song by my favourite band & feel so real) & 'Happy with my perfect mess/you were there all the time' which I think was absolutely written for me, though my best friend wrote that one... & he's in the same band as my boyfriend. Problemo!

I'd love my tattoos to be somewhere hidden. Somewhere sacred.

  19. Oooh, thanks for the link to that blog, it's wonderful!
I've been seriously thinking of getting a tattoo the last couple of weeks. I'd like to get a text-y one on my foot, possibly the word 'closer' in Latin. I will have to get experimenting with a marker pen!

  20. So pretty, I am seriously considering a tattoo, but then I have been for ages and haven't quite taken the plunge yet! I'm thinking maybe a bird like the ones in my blog header, or a little dragonfly on my ankle. I lvoe the idea of a quote too.

  21. Thank you for introducing me to this blog - it really IS amazing!

I love tattoos. Rob has one and I'm desperate for him to get more - they're utterly beautiful when done right. I love the simple line drawings you've chosen. x

  22. If I was ever to get a tattoo it would be flowers and most likely on my foot.

I don't know, maybe one day. I do love the quote ones; I think they are more unique and tasteful than a lot of generic tattoo’s these days!

Whoever knew a sharpie could be so useful...

  23. I love tattoos - when they are done right. I have 7 tattoos and my obsession is just getting bigger. Although I was a good girl and waited 3 years to get my recent piece as I needed to be super sure. The next one I want is a bird cage on my inner elbow.
Check out my new arm tattoo here...
